Freshmen Lacrosse Festival Series 2005

Coaches and Parent Representatives,

Once again, Missouri Amateur Lacrosse is happy to present the Freshmen Lacrosse Festival Series on Saturdays at Creve Coeur Lake Park.  In past years, the games have been very successful.  Players have gotten great exposure to the game and had a good time playing the game we all love.

Games will run from 8:30am to 2pm on April 2, 9, and 23.  April 16 and 30 are reserved as weather makeup days

Click HERE to see the completed Schedule of Games

Each game will be one hour and fifteen minutes long.  There will be a ten minute break in between games.

Here is some information you will find useful:

·        Each two game session will cost $135.00.

·        Playing all three Saturdays will cost $405.00.

·        Each game is scheduled by the referee association to have two officials.

·        The Series is open to freshman and first year players.  ANYONE who plays on a JV team is NOT eligible to play in the FLFS.

·        Each team must produce an insurance waiver naming Missouri Amateur Lacrosse and St. Louis County as an “Additional Insured.”  Contact your insurance carrier and they will provide the waiver.

By March 4th, please mail checks (payable to MAL for $135 per Saturday) along with the Insurance Waiver to:

Missouri Amateur Lacrosse
3219 Pestalozzi St.
St. Louis, MO 63118

Each week teams should bring:

  • Water for players and coaches.
  • Balls (at least eight clean, white balls per game will need to be placed on each end line).
  • A table official (parent, student manager, etc. to run clocks and keep penalty time).
  • Clocks for penalties and quarter time.
  • Air horn for sounding the end of quarters.
  • Home and Away jerseys if available.  Colors will be agreed upon by coaches prior to each game.  Please always bring two colors if your program has them.  Home team/goals/alternate possession will be determined prior to each game by coaches and referees.

MAL will provide:

  • On site coordinator to answer questions
  • Referees
  • Fields
  • Goals
  • Warm-up areas
  • Team meeting areas
  • Concessions

In case of rain:

  • Each program needs to set up some sort of rain notification system.  MAL will notify a designated person from each club who will then start the program’s phone tree.  We have had problems in the past with erroneous information going out due to the enormous volume of calls and separate numbers for all players to call.  As soon as we know, we will notify each program and then it is the responsibility of the program to notify its players and families
  • Each program will then also be notified about the make up date
  • If more than two games are cancelled, $120 per weekend will be refunded
  • Refunds will not be given if teams choose not to play on the rescheduled day.  Please refrain from scheduling additional games on April 16th and 30th

Very Important:

  • In order to play, all teams must submit an insurance certificate listing St. Louis County and Missouri Amateur Lacrosse as “Additional Insured” entities.  Teams will not be allowed to play without the certificate.  Please forward the document, either electronically to [email protected], or by mail to Missouri Amateur Lacrosse, 3219 Pestalozzi St., St. Louis, MO 63118 as soon as possible.  Also, please bring a paper copy to the first week’s games.
  • All insurance forms MUST be turned in or teams will be forced to forfeit with no refund.
