Class #1     Introduction to Lacrosse Rules and Organization
Kansas City MO, Saturday, 1/28, 9 AM – Noon @ Rockhurst Jesuit High School
St. Louis MO, Saturday, 1/28, 9 AM – Noon @ DeSmet Jesuit High School
Columbia MO, Saturday, 1/28, 9 AM – Noon location TBD

Class #2     Rules Meeting and required COC Clinic
(Lacrosse Officiating Mechanics.  What, where, when & how.)
Rules meeting
with high school coaches.
Attendance required for all MSLA Coaches and Officials.
Rules test due and graded.  Lunch & NCAA Tape viewing.  Required COC Clinic.

Class #3  Mechanics of Lacrosse Officiating &
the Importance of the Pre-Game - Saturday, Feb 25
Missouri West and Kansas Training Session
9 AM to Noon @ Rockhurst HS, Kansas City
Then join Chuck Ozonoff & his Crew for their Pre-Game @ 6 PM in Manhattan, KS prior to the Memphis vs. Kansas State game at 8 PM.

Missouri Eastern Region Training Session
Arrival 11:45 AM @ Lindenwood University, St. Charles, MO
Classroom is located in the Athletic building near the Stadium (bring your lunch if you wish).  Class starts promptly @ Noon.  Join Chris Brescia and his Crew for their Pre-Game, and then watch them take the field for the Oakland vs. Northeastern GRLC game @ 2 PM.  It should be a great time and very informative.

Class #4     On-field training/evaluation and Basic Training Graduation.
Throw your first flag.  Uniform and USLacrosse membership required to go on-field.
$40 MALOA dues waived if you work a Jamboree.

 Kansas City MO, Saturday 3/4, 8 AM – 5 PM  Rockhurst-Kansas City Jamboree
St. Louis MO, Saturday, 3/11,
Jamboree at AB Sports Centre -
2 Sessions 7 AM and 11 AM

All 4 sessions are required, but additional training and make-up sessions can be scheduled with your trainer at a mutually agreeable time.

Professional Membership

 MALOA (Mid America Lacrosse Officials Association) officials must join USLacrosse as an “Official”. The annual cost of USL membership as an official is $50, and it includes insurance for officials, a subscription to Lacrosse magazine, and a rulebook after your first year. You can register online or download the membership forms at www.uslacrosse.org.  To be a MALOA official you must attend the 4 training classes before each season. Annual Dues for MALOA are $40, but are waived if the official attends Class #4, the “Jamborees”.

These items can also be purchased from referee supply companies.  Equipment can also be ordered from The Official’s Corner (1-800-333-5299).  Call for free catalogs.

2005 MALOA Official's Fees for MSLA (high school)

2-Man Crew - Single game - V, JV, or Fr. 2-Man Crew - Two games (V then JV)
