BOARD MEETING MINUTES

November 17, 2005

Call to Order

Ren Pettinelli called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. 

Approval of Minutes

The minutes from the October meeting are posted on the website and were approved as posted.   

Treasurer’s Report

Cash balance of $8,780 was approved. 

Reports

A)      Coaches -  The coach’s meeting  went very well.  Republic HS in Springfield and Ft Zumwalt is fielding a JV team for the 2006 season.   Coaches clinic in Baltimore Dec 9,10.  USLAX convention in Philadlphia Jan 14-15.  Coaches are encouraged to go.  Head coaches are USLAX member through MSLA.

B)      Officials –Names are needed for new officials.  Training will be 3 Sat classroom sessions on Jan 28, Feb 11 and another date to be announced.  All dates are posted on MOLAX.org.   The sessions will all be held at Desmet.  They are looking for high school students interested in refereeing youth games.  USLAX will subsidize some of the fees for this training. 

C)      US Lacrosse –Nothing new to report.

D)      Girls Lacrosse – They are going to attempt to get sanctioned again.

Old Business

A)     Officials/Coaches rating cards—Examples were handed out and discussed at length.  Jason Fauss and Bob Schulte will work on this item .  Will look at an on-line reporting system.

B)      Coaches education course—MSHSAA has a 1 day course available.  MSLA will discuss this further and possibly paying for the fee for head coaches only.

New Business

        Fees are due at the January meeting.  It was decided to lower the fees for Varsity programs to $300/team.  Freshman and JV will remain the same at $75 and $100, respectively.

        Insurance Certificates due at the Feb meeting and 15 man roster due in March.
