BOARD MEETING MINUTES

November 18, 2004

Call to Order

Ren Pettinelli called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.  There were 20 people in attendance and 7 teams represented on the conference phone.
 

Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the October and September meetings are now posted on the website.
 

Treasurer’s Report

Cash balance of $7031 was approved.
 

Regular Reports
A) Coaches - Scheduling meeting to be Dec. 4 at 12 noon in Room 102 at Desmet.  Schedules due to Ren by Dec. 10.  All changes to Ren by Jan. 15 and final schedules will be sent to MALOA by Feb. 1.

B) Officials – Each team is to have the names of 2 possible officials to MALOA asap.  Training will be held on Jan 22.  The coaches testing will take place at the end of Jan or early Feb.

C) US Lacrosse – nothing to report.

D) Girls Lacrosse – nothing to report.
 

Old Business
A) Conference Realignment - Committee has made some suggestions that are posted on the website.  It will be discussed at the coaches scheduling meeting and voted on at Jan. meeting.

B) Fall Face-Off – Long discussion on how to get lacrosse players to attend.  Motion made and passed to

have all MSLA teams support the Fall Face-Off financially by the following schedule:

St Louis teams—must purchase 1 ticket/player on previous year’s roster at $5/ticket

Columbia teams—must purchase .5 ticket/player on previous year’s roster at $5/ticket

KC teams—must purchase .25 ticket/player on previous year’s roster at $5/ticket

C) MSLA Rules and Handbook - to be discussed and will review it at Jan meeting.
 

New Business
A) Coaches Clinic—Dec. 11 at 12 noon at DeSmet featuring coaches from Bellarmine Univ in Louisville, KY.  All coaches can attend.

B) Springfield will have a varsity team.  Cape Girardeau and Eureka are still a question mark.
 

Next Meeting – January 20th, 2005 – 7:00 PM at DeSmet High School , room 102.
