BOARD MEETING MINUTES

August 17, 2006

Call to Order 

Ren Pettinelli called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.  13 schools were represented plus MALOA and the St Louis Chapter of US Lacrosse. 

Approval of Minutes 

The minutes from the April meeting are now posted on the website and were approved as posted.  

Treasurer’s Report 

Cash balance of $12,151 was approved.   

The 2006 Fall FaceOff tickets were distributed.  MSLA agreed in 2005 to support this wonderful event.  St Louis teams are required to purchase one ticket per team member, Columbia teams 1 ticket for every 2 players and KC/Springfield 1 ticket per 4 players.  The tickets are $5 each and have a face value of $10.

The ticket money can be sent to St Louis Lacrosse Foundation, 304 Sugarcreek Rd, St Louis, MO  63122.

It was reported that women’s lacrosse is now officially recognized by MSHSAA.  They will be officially recognized for the spring 2008 season.  Men’s lacrosse can apply for sanctioning any time we want.  All coaches and parent reps are encouraged to develop good relationships with their Athletic Directors.  There are 28 states currently that have sanctioned the sport.

The 2005 profits were used to promote lacrosse in 2 St Louis city middle schools.

Next Meeting – September  21, 2006 – 7:00 PM in Room 102 at DeSmet High School.  Elections will be held at that time.
